6:22PM - It's that time of the year :)

Hi everyone! My name is Amanda, this is my second year and I thoroughly enjoy sending out wishes and of course receiving. I can't wait to start finding wishes to grant! I work at a local hospital in Health Information and I am a full time college student getting a degree in my field of work. And I am almost done..yeah!! I have one daughter who is 12. Happy Holidays everyone!

~Amanda

1.Anything from my Amazon wish list: http://amzn.com/w/2HPFBBVB7UOVK
I am still adding a few things I really want to this list.

2.Any stocking stuffers for my daughter.
Being a single mom times have gotten tough for me. And any help with stocking stuffers would be wonderful. She is into the typical 12 yr old stuff: pens, glittery things, makeup, Twilight, star jewelry, knick knacks, etc.

3.Anything in my mailbox.
A card or a package. Especially Christmas cards or inspiring cards you might make. I love when the mail man brings "fun" mail instead of bills. But lately it has been bills..blah.

4.Scrapbook stuff.
I love all kinds of stickers, papers, cut outs, rub ons. Especially vintage looking items.

5. Funny or quirky office items.
I love to find funny things for my office: stress balls, zen gardens, quirky sayings, inspiring quotes, funny little creatures. I know I am quirky that way. :)

6. Donations to American Cancer Society.
I would love it if you would donate to this important fund. My Dad died of lung cancer when I was 21, he was only 56 when he passed. I miss him terribly.

7. Bath and Body Works scent Japanese Cherry Blossom items.
I LOVE this scent and would be soooo happy to get more lotion, gel or even the perfume/body spray again. This is the only thing I really wear and have been out of it for a while. :(

8. Handmade jewelry.
Anything with beads or silver. My favorite colors are red, black, plum, burgundy, and dark green.

9. Anything with snowmen on them.
Paper, note cards, pens, brooches, ornaments, decorations, etc. I love snowmen for the holidays. :)

10. Pen friends.
Would love to make some new friendships, I am open to anyone anywhere.

Thanks for reading my list. I love surprises so I shall post my address here:

6:09PM - let's hope this works this time..

Hi all... my name is alicia but i go by taz... here is my list, and i will try
to help as many of you as i can, in return

1. Anything that involves Taz (the Tasmanian Devil). That's where i got
my nickname, and i adore him. Stuff is so hard to find, though!

2. Anything culinary! Gently used is perfectly fine, as long as it's
clean... or can be cleaned. I was very involved in culinary in HS and decided to
pursue a different career path because of the cost of culinary school. I still
love it. Knife sets, aprons, books, your advice... It would all be very, very
special to me.

3. Anything massage-related! i decided to go to massage school (my
"other" dream.) i am just starting in March, so anything you have that could be
of some use would be awesome.

4. Hats! i loooove hats. my gf says i have a more 'boyish' style, so...
baseball caps and that kind of thing. (Lyn says i would look great in a bowler
though)

5. Anything NY Yankees related. i. am. a. fanatic. :]

6. Gift cards! i am sorta hard to shop for, but anywhere you have cards
for would be really great. Restaurants, shops, that kind of thing. Or a movie
gift card!

7. Movies! If you have a bunch lying around that you just can't sell, or
don't want to, rattle off a list and i'll tell you what interests me or what i
already have! We're trying to start a collection... so this would be great.

8. Clothes! Hand-me-downs are awesome. i am 1 of 4 girls, and the only
one that doesn't wear high heels and skirts... :P i like button-downs,
plaid-patterns, stripes, the color GREEN!, etc. i'm a L or XL (depending on
sizing) in tops and the same in bottoms... i LOVE basketball shorts, and shirts from tshirthell.com or an equally demented humor website. i
love that place.

9. board or card games! if you're unsure... you can ask and i will tell you what i/we have already

10. Cards! Also, BE NICE TO ONE ANOTHER! You never know when it'll be
your last day with someone.

thank you so much!

6:04PM - Holiday Wishes 2009!

Hi all! My name is Lyn, and I'm from NC. I'm 21 and a psychology/education major, with intentions to become a special education teacher. I would really appreciate anything you would like to share with me, even if it's not on my list! I will be helping out as many people from the community as possible, as well.

My (Lyn's!) List:

1. Anything having to do with Hello Kitty. I am a little obsessed and she makes me so very happy... my car and my entire room are decked out ;)

2. Pinup stuff! Be it hair accessories, purses, shoes (I'm a 9-9.5 in women's), pictures, books, whatever! I especially adore Dita Von Teese, and I'm on the lookout for a gently used copy of any of her books.

3. "New home" things. We are moving to Asheville, NC (where I used to live) in early January, and we don't have much in the way of decorating! We are both fairly odd creatures, so ANYTHING you wanna send us that could go on a wall or whathaveyou would be awesome.

4. Books! Used, all-but-falling-apart, new, anything! I read alot of Psychology books and True Crime... but I also love a good chick novel, or something that makes you think. If you have a question about this, feel free to ask and I'll fill you in as much as possible.

5. Anything rainbow or gay pride-related. I love rainbows, haha. Bracelets, hair accessories, purses, socks, necklaces, keychains, posters... Go for it!

6. Anything Ani Difranco related. She is MY IDOL and I absolutely am ENAMORED. This is a cry in the dark... but if you or someone you know has a pair of tickets to the Winter Jam in Asheville, NC they want to get rid of or sell, please let me know!

7. Perfume! I especially love Victoria's Secret scents, but I also like Britney Spears' brand (ha), and Lucky You... Generally, anything floral (but not Old People-esque, lol) or anything that smells like CANDY I will adore.

8. MAC MAKEUP! I am a fanatic, and I cannot get enough. I mostly wear their lipsticks and blush, but I do wear eyeshadow and mascara and everything they make, pretty much.

9. Something from my Amazon wishlist... http://www.amazon.com/registry/wishlist/3T1KRW7SYEC6T/ref=cm_wl_act_vv?_encoding=UTF8&visitor-view=1&reveal=

I love books and movies of all sorts, so these are just to give you an idea!

10. Your thoughts and best wishes. This year has been VERY rough. In October I lost a friend from High School to suicide, and my heart is still jumbled. There have been many ups and downs for both my fiancee and I, as her family has presented a lot of problems. So if you would keep us in your thoughts and/or prayers, it would be VERY appreciated! Or, if you want to make a monetary donation to the ASSP (American Society for Suicide Prevention) in my friend's name (Canda Kinney), that would be amazing. CARDS would be great! I will cherish them and hang them up in our new apartment!

Thank you sooo much! Here is my address (and yes, it is the same as Taz's, because we live together... We are definitely not the same person though, hah!)

6:00PM

Hi there! My name is Meris, and I'm a 20 year old soon-to-be nursing student living in Virginia! This is my 4th year doing Holiday Wishes, and I've had a blast every time. I really look forward to granting some wishes and seeing the creative ways people come up with to help me with mine :)

1.Gift cards to anywhere that sells food.
This is the first time I've had bills. I pay for my car, my cell phone, my cats' vet bills, my food, everything but utilities (thanks Mom!). Sometimes it's really hard to make ends meet being in school full-time and only being able to work part-time. It's not a dire need, but sometimes I'd like to be able to buy *gasp* name brand cereal, haha. I would really appreciate any amount of money that could go towards food in any sort of form. Even if you just have a few dollars left on a gift card you got a while back!

2.Anything that could help me through nursing school.
If you have any books, old notes, reference guides, equipment, anything really, that could help me through nursing school, I'd really appreciate it. Even if you've been through nursing school and can give me some advice! I'm really nervous, and being as well prepared as I can will help my anxiety.

3.Anything in my mailbox that isn't a bill!
Whether it's a card or a package, I'll love it if it isn't asking for money. And if you would be interested, I'd LOVE to be care-package buddies with someone. Just send me a list of stuff you like, and we can send each other care packages every once in a while :) Honestly, anything in my mailbox makes my day.

4.Candy from anywhere other than the USA...or candy from the USA that I can't get in Virginia!
Smarties, Tim-tams, Pocky, Big Frut, ANYTHING. One year, someone sent me the most amazing candy care packet, and I got to try the neatest candies from around the world! Even if you don't think it's "exotic" or "cool," I'll love it. Seriously. And I'm not allergic to anything/I like everything. I even like that crazy salted licorice stuff!

5. Good thoughts/intentions/prayers.
I've been really sick recently, and I've undergone a lot of appointments and tests that have been not so much fun. It's gotten to the point that my life is being put on pause to deal with my medical issues, but the problem is that no one knows what's wrong. At this point, I don't care what the problem is, I just want to know what it is so we can work to fix it. So any good thoughts, prayers, positive intentions sent my way would be really appreciated.

6. Donations to charities.
If you could donate any amount of money to Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Virginia, Rory's Garden, The March of Dimes, or to your local fire department/rescue squad it would be greatly appreciated. Alternatively, if you could donate your time to any of these organizations (or anywhere!) so many people will benefit.

7. Resources for sex education.
I am currently trying to start an education outreach program in my community to educate parents on how to talk to their kids about sex. Any books, pamphlets, posters, etc. relating to safe sex or sex education would be SO welcome! Also, if you have any stories (good or bad) about talking to your kids, or what it was like when your parents talked to you (or didn't) about sex, I'd love to hear them. Sometimes testimonials are the best educators!

8. Any DVDs.
If you have DVDs of any movie, any television series, documentaries, ANYTHING that you don't want anymore, I'd love to take them off your hands. I am always looking to add to my DVD collection and see new things. Alternatively, if you could tell me about your favorite movies/tv shows to check out, that would be great, too!

9. Anything relating to the Fire Department/Emergency Medicine/Nursing.
I'm an emergency medical technician and I work with the fire department (hoping to start the academy this spring). If you have any fiction books about Firefighters/EMTs, any DVDs or even VHS tapes about us, any episodes of Rescue 911, DVDs of Emergency! or Third Watch, a firefighter stuffed animal, or even just a children's book about firefighters/paramedics, I would love it. I love things having to do with fire trucks, firefighters, paramedics, ambulances, nurses, everything! Stuff from places like ourdesigns.com to things your local fire department handed out at an informational session one time :) The only thing I *need* when it comes to EMS is a Littmann stethoscope. I have a hearing loss in both ears and cannot hear well over the roar or the ambulance's diesel engine when doing patient assessments. New, used, found, it doesn't matter. But seriously, I'm a fire/EMS dork and collect anything having to do with the field.

10. New Friends!
Whether you'd like to be LJ friends, pen-pals, follow me on twitter, or be friends IRL (if you live in the area!) I'd love it! I'm always looking to meet new people and connect with people who have different world views than I do.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my list. If you do offer to help me, please link me to your list so that I can see if I can reciprocate the love at all! Also, I can be reached at mshuwarger [at] gmail [dot] com!

Above all, I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!
Meris

4:47PM

I figured i'd get this out of the way early, since I know I won't remember once the holidays really start rolling in. I guess this makes...year three for me? I've tried really hard to fulfill wishes for others. I don't always succeed (sometimes the money runs low) but i've tried to do small things.

I don't know if my wish-granters saw my thank-you last year, so i'll say it again now. Thank you for last years wonderful cards and gifts! They made me so happy. :)

As for this year? I don't have very many wishes.

1: Holiday Cards. I feel so special every year getting so many holiday cards. I put them all over my vanity mirror and my shelves. I look at them every day til mid January. I'd really like that a lot.

2: I would very much like this book. It's called Hot Ice and Wondrous Strange Snow and its about the Harbin Ice Festival in China. It has the most beautiful pictures. I've asked for it for my birthday for three years and have yet to get it. *laugh*

3: I like berets. Yeah, the hats. I look cute in them! So if you've bought one in the past and didn't like it, i'd be more than happy to wear it!

4: Anything French. I'm sort of a francophile. And I do mean anything. You'd be surprised what I would consider to be very awesome.

5: Everyone usually puts their pipe dream on here, so i'll add one too. I'd really love to get the Rosetta Stone French or Fluenz French. They're really expensive language teaching programs that I certainly can't afford. But I think i'd die of happiness if I ever got them.

6: Please...enjoy your families during the holiday season. I come from a broken home and get so upset when I hear people complain about "having to go visit two families" or being "so strapped for time". Keep in mind that there are people in the world who would feel so very very blessed to actually be wanted in two places on the same day, or not to be lonely on Christmas morning.

7: Please be safe this holiday season. I'm a mortician, and I see a lot of people who could easily have avoided a visit to me if they'd just given the keys to someone else. I don't want to be busy this Christmas.

8: Give generously. People are struggling. True charity is not giving when you have plenty, but when you have little. And don't forget how valuable your time is, and how much of a difference you can make to others by giving it to them.

9: Slow down. Take stock of your life. Discard what is not necessary and nourish what is. Strive ceaselessly to discover and know the difference.

10: And as my grandmom told me every day til the day she died: Mind Your Manners!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

5:41PM - Hi I'm Bob and I'm an alcoholic

...oh wait, wrong group.

Okay, I'm Demmie, been 'round these parts for quite some time. LOVE LOVE LOVE playing holiday elf, since it's GREAT for collecting karma points, and I wanna win that cruise. Or something. That's what it said on the inside of the bottlecap. and #44 post in the community, so do I win that toaster?

Seriously, I'm in Orlando, FL.. happily married with kids, and sorry, no sob story here. Things could be better, sure, but things could always be MUCH much worse, and I think people tend to lose sight of that. I chomp at the bit all year for this, as I think giving to others is a FANTASTIC cure for depression, and helps you to remember what's really important in this thing we call "life". Am already granting wishes, and looking mightily forward to bringing some holiday smiles. Give of yourself, and the rewards will be plentyfold. 'm not sure the exact amount of "plentyfold", but it sounds like a lot. ;)

And whether you look at my list, grant a wish (even if it's someone else's), I wish you the happiest of holidaze :)

My List by Demmie

1. A Russian Blue

I have been wanting one for YEARS. One day I will have it. Oh yes, one day I WILL have one. I will love him and snuggle him and... you get the idea.

2. Help with a tattoo design. I have two more tattoos I want to get eventually (okay, three), and I am NOT an artist by any means. I would love for someone who is more creatively inclined to help me design my next tattoo. The next one, I want to be "Karma" as it's THE tenet I live by. I want it to be a custom ambigram. The one after that will be to represent my children, incorporating their birthstones. But I can't draw, so any artists out there that like designing tattoos... *smiles*

3. I am fascinated by Buddhism. I'm a self-described "agnostic pagan", and I'd like to explore a bit more as part of my "New Year's Resolution". Any books you have that you have enjoyed on Buddhism/Tantra/Eastern philosophies, I'd be happy to receive. Books should always be in circulation, that's what I say.

4. iTunes gift cards. I've become an absolute app fiend with my iPod Touch (1st gen, unfortunately, but hey I'm not complaining...), and it's my way of de-stressing. It keeps me.. um.. sane.... *shifty eyes*

5. Frames and shelves. We've been in our home a year and the walls are still bare. We HAVE a lot of photos and things to display, but we have no shelves, nor do we have frames to display a lot of the great celeb autographs or art we have. ANY shelves or ANY frames (like 8x10, 11x13, whatever).

6. Accessories for my upcoming costumes. You see, I'm one of those dorky geeks who goes out and dresses up at conventions. Unfortunately I can't sew or make stuff to save my life. I mean I glue two sticks together and it's a disaster, I kid you not. So my wish would be for an accessory for one of my costumes. For example, a beret to go with my Cobra Baroness, or a shoulder holster for my Misty Knight, or a poison apple for my Evil Queen, or something for my Cleopatra, or... so if you're crafty and interested in possibly helping an untalented geeky sap out...

7. Gift art. Huh, you say? Well, like I said, I'm a costumer. And there's always someone higher up on the chain you look up to. There are a couple of others, and one of the things I see that I'm admittedly a tad envious of is "gift art". People send them art of themselves.. like here's an example of what I mean. To me, it's the highest form of flattery.

8. For my daughters: Age 19 and 17... both are experiencing some tough personal times right now, and I'd love for them to have some outside encouragement. Do you have a book that has helped you through a particular dark time in your life? Perhaps one that brought you out of a very difficult period that you wouldn't mind passing onto someone else? Speak on up. :)

9. And of course, The Amazon wishlist, even if it's something that's on the list that you have lying around the house and want to get rid of. I'm a fan of Disney Villains, plush Cthulus, Gossamer, Sephora, all kindsa stuffs... G'head, take a look. Ya never know, and ya might end up with a devoted fan ;)

10. Catherine Coatney. You see, I have been lusting after this outfit since 2003. My wonderful friend [info]fieryredhead (if you see her wishlist, PLEASE grant a wish for her...) finally found the corset for me *gasp thud*, so now I just need to find the skirt. Seems the sheer skirt is here, but now my years-long mission is almost complete. I just need to find that skirt!!

And another thing: PLEASE do respect the unsung heroes of this community.. the mods. They don't get enough credit for doing what they do. How can you respect them? By adhering to the guidelines set forth, and make their job easier. I'd love for everyone to remember what the community was founded upon and what it's supposed to be really about.

2:32PM - Just another girl's holiday wishes...

Hi there :) I'm 22, a girl, and from Tacoma, Washington. I'm a student teacher. (I want to teach 2nd grade.) 2009 has been a hard year for me, and i'm looking forward to the holiday season. Last year I was able to grant a few wishes and hope this year to do the same.

My wishes:

1. Anything to do with Michael Jackson. (magazines, fanart, cds, etc.) His death broke my heart this year. I can't stop crying about it, honestly. He meant the world to me.
2. Children's books. I'm building a library for my classroom. I need books for the age range of 1st-3rd grade. Gently used books are fine.
3. Dog toys. I have an Australian shepherd and she loves chew toys, ropes, and toys that make noise.
4. New classroom supplies. Glue, pencils, tape, pens, and any other new school supplies. My students could also use paper towels, tissues, and different colored papers.
5. Amazon.com gift card. This would help me buy gifts for my family. :) Plus Amazon has everything!
6. Jewelry from American Eagle. I love EVERYTHING. The necklaces are so gorgeous :) As are the earrings. I would love anything from this selection: http://www.ae.com/web/browse/category_feature_item_guide.jsp?catId=cat90050 <3 <3 <3 I've been lusting after their jewelry for quite some time.
7. A 2010 planner/organizer. Anything that I can write my daily assignments in.
8. Bath & Body Works scented hand sanitizers. I work with kids, and keeping germ free is very important. Plus they smell amazing!
9. Money for school loans. This is my big/impossible wish...I'm very far in debt but all for the sake of becoming a teacher.
10. As always, donations to the Humane Society of Tacoma. It would mean a lot to me. (www.thehumanesociety.org)

Thanks for taking the time to read my list. To contact me about my address, the e-mail is angelic_prettyxo@yahoo.com. That e-mail is also connected to my paypal account. If you e-mail me, please send a link to your wishlist as well.

It's all for Love...L-O-V-E. <3

6:32PM - 2009 Wishes!

First off, HAPPY (almost) HOLIDAYS TO EVERYONE! A little about me: My name is Alyssa, I'm 20 and this is my third (maybe fourth?) year participating in this community. I'm from Canada, but I recently moved to Luxembourg. I went to college for two years and accomplished nothing. Since being here, I finally got my head on straight and intend on pursuing a BSc in Human Kinetics :D

2009 WishList

1. North American Care Package: Yep, I sure do miss a lot of things that I could get in Canada (or at least without having to hunt it down and pay an outrageous amount of money!!!). Examples: Kraft salad dressings (of any sort), bright coloured nail polish, hockey tape, nail polish, timmies coffee, etc. Basically, anything.... as long as it's North American haha.

2. Beanie Hats: I love them... yet don't own any? I'd love to have some in every colour of the rainbow... someday! Just standard long beanie here or something like this.

3. Bandanas: Just regular ol' bandanas. Any colour.

4. Stomp Pad: If you haven't guessed it yet, I snowboard! Just got a new board and am in need of a stomp pad. Preferably the studded type, but anything will do!

5. Music Recommendations: I'm very bored with my music. Any suggestions? I'm into just about everything, but not country. Not my thing.

6. Paid LJ Account: It's a long shot, but I've never had one before. It'd be nice :)

7. Money: Yes, I feel bad for asking, but it would help me out a lot. I need money so I can complete some e-school (to get the credits I need to apply for HKin) and it's pretty pricey. Anything you could spare would really help me out. My Paypal e-mail address is: nwll0022@humbermail.ca

8. Set Goals & Follow Them: Seriously, best thing ever. Put your all into your goals and good things will come of it.

9. Snowboard-Related: Anything! Huge passion for the sport... I'll settle for anything to do with it. Goggles, gloves, videos, scarves, tune-up gear, three feet of snow and a lift pass.... haha

10. HOLIDAY CARDS: OF COURSE!

(For shipping info, leave a comment or e-mail me at nwll0022@humbermail.ca)

Can't wait to start granting some wishes!

10:24PM - Sharing the wishes

Greetings! I'm Jenny, a geeky 22 year old heritage student from Sweden who currently studies in Bournemouth, UK. (I live in England, but spend the holidays in Sweden.) This'll be my second year with this community, and I'm awfully excited about it. :) Hopefully I can make many wishes come true this year! Here are my wishes for the year.

---

1. Bookmooch points. I'm a big fan of Bookmooch, and I try to use it as much as I can, both giving and receiving. If you're a fellow moocher, I'd love some extra Bookmooch points so that I can get even more books when the urge arises. :) My username is jenniology, for the record.

2. Holiday cards. I really love receiving cards for the winter holidays, so if you have some spare cards, feel free to send one my way. Other cultures or "unsusual" holidays are especially fun themes! I'm not offended by religious motifs at all - being a bit of an interfaith fan - and I welcome absolutely any card you'd like to send me. If you have a preference as to whether to send a card to Sweden or England, let me know - I don't mind whichever address you end up using, one will just be slower for me to notice any goodies at.

3. Tea bags. I love black tea, and as part of my 101 goals in 1001 days, I aim to try a different tea each day for at least one month. I only have half the amount necessary yet, so please send me any variety of tea you have on hand! Just make sure it has no lemon or orange in it, as I'm allergic to those. :)

4. Pair of mannequin hands. This is a strange wish! Thing is, I'd like to display my growing collection of rings, rather than put them away in my jewellery box. That's how I started to think that a pair of mannequin hands would be amazingly good for this purpose. So if you happen to stumble across any, please keep me in mind!

5. Rings. Related to the wish above, obviously. :) I'd love some more rings - I'm not fussed about material or colour, to be honest. I have quite large fingers, though. However, I have made an effort to size my fingers recently, and here are the various (US) sizes I'm looking for. If you have any pretty rings in those sizes that you wouldn't mind giving away, I'd be absolutely thrilled!

6. A book in German. Another one of my 101 goals is to read a book in German. However, my German is terribly out of date, and as such, I'd like an easy read. A childrens or young adults book might be worth a shot. :) I'm happy to give anything easy-to-moderate a try.

7. Albums by singers/bands I haven't heard of. I really need to expand my musical horizons, so I'm asking for people to introduce me to bands or singers I haven't listened to before - preferably by lending or giving me an album by them. Obviously you'd have to ask me if I've heard their music before, since you probably don't know my taste in music - go ahead, suggest anything! Surprise me.

8. Sweets. In particular, I'm always looking for Stride Sweet Cinnamon Gum (which I can't find in Europe, alas), and Banana & Cream Creme Savers. :)

9. Gift cards. Being a student, gift vouchers or gift cards make an enormous difference in my life. Particularly helpful are ones for Waitrose, Asda or Boots.

10. Anything from my HintBug wishlist. You can always be sure to make my day brighter by getting me something from my wishlist. It doesn't have to be big or expensive - anything goes.

---

Thanks for looking. :) If you'd like to contact me, please feel free to e-mail me at sanity dot lost at gmail dot com!

Happy holidays! <3

5:22PM

I am so excited for to participate again this year! This will be my third year here, and I cannot wait to fulfill some more wishes! My first year, I mainly sent cards, last year I did a few cards and a few gifts, and this year I plan to get out a lot of cards and gifts!

My name is Mary, and I live in Virginia. This past September, I moved out on my own with my boyfriend of two years! So, it's been quite an adventure. I also work full time at a daycare, and go to school part time for business management. I have several material item wishes, and a few that I'd just like for everyone to do!

My Wishes

oo1. Breast cancer awarness merchandise. OR go and donate/purchase something that will donate some proceeds towards research. I have been supporting BCA for a while now, did a womens 4 miler to raise money, plus I purchase lots of BCA items. I adore absolutely anything related to it. If you donate, please let me know! It'll put a smile on my face.

oo2. Penny banks. I collect them, and have 20+! Vintage/Antique are my favorite. But, I'm not really picky.

oo3. Original photography, by you! 8x10 would would be fabulous. I also would love some 8x10 photo frames, in black :D

oo4. Games for a wii or xbox360. We have both systems, but haven't been able to purchase games for them recently, because we have bills now.

oo5. I would love a paid LJ account. I haven't had one in so long, and would love the extra userpic space. Also, if you're into LJ rating communities, it would make me smile if you joined [info]sweetiesxx! It's an inner beauty rating community, owned by me.

oo6. A new alarm clock! Ours is close to dieing, and I am in desperate need of a new one.

oo7. Temptation cat snacks for my kitties! They are super picky, and will only eat those.

oo8. Coupons! Now that I live on my own, I rely on coupons to shop with. Any frozen food, yogurs, snacks, water, drinks, whatever! We can use them all, and what we don't use, we will pass on to others.

oo9. Giftcards. Especially wal-mart, K-mart or just visa giftcards. Any amount, if you have a few bucks leftover on one, i'd like it!

o10. Christmas Cards!! I love receiving them from you all, and I have them all saved from the past two years.

5:17PM - It's beginning to look alot like Christmas...

After many days of being away from LJ I decided to do a little post of my own.

My name is Lex. I'm a 25 year old student from Canada. this is my year participating in the community but I love to give and hopefully can do something awesome for some people this year! I am a firm believer in giving is better than receiving, although that is fun too!

My 10 wishes:

1)Donations: Every year I try to help out as many charities as I can but being a student there never seems to be that much money to go around. I love giving donations as Christmas gifts because you're helping someone else out as well as giving a gift. Some of the charities/organizations I support are: Canadian Breast Cancer Society, Canadian Arthritis Society, UNICEF, Berkshire Theater Festival, AIDS research, Gay rights/PFLAG, Toronto Humane Society (my kitty is from there!), (tAB) The Arts Bureau, Red Bull theater and the World Wildlife Federation(If you "adopt" an animal they send you a stuffed one and I adore that!).

2) DVDs: I love collecting shows on DVD! I'm also looking for a couple of movies. League of their own, True Blood, Gilmore Girls Season 1, Parks and Recreation. I just love tv shows!

3)Candy: I love candy and adore trying new things. Especially when it comes in funky tins or boxes! I dislike black licorice or black candy but I love other things! I collect pez dispensers as well, and novelty tins!

4)Beads and Beading and any Crafting Supplies: I recently got into beading which is an expensive hobby. I can't always afford supplies or tools so if anyone had anything they wanted to get rid of I would greatly appreciate it! I'm hoping to learn to knit or crochet so any supplies that way would be love! Any sort of crafting, I love to do ANYTHING! I have a dollhouse I'm building and any wee bits for furniture is amazing!

5)Pjs I love flannel pjs but the place I usually buy mine from don't seem to stock them this year. I wear an XL. Anything Christmas themed is always fun!

6)Vintage!: I love vintage things from the 50's and 60's! Anything would be great!!! I'm especially looking for vintage although from the 80's and 90's fisher price little people. I'm looking to construct their entire town in my second bedroom!

7)Etsy!: I love handmade jewelry! There's a couple of sellers on there that I would love to support! I love any necklaces, earrings or bracelets from sellers: clayconnections http://www.etsy.com/shop/ClayConnections and http://www.etsy.com/shop/Pumpkinpye517 please nothing with any face on it! These girls are quite sweet and I have some of their works already! It's pretty fun!

8) Teddy Bears!: I'm a nut for teddy bears, build a bear is my fav store but I love those cuddly looking ones from the Vermont Teddy bear company! Going into any teddy bear store makes me want to adopt them all! Along the same lines not all children have the luxury of having a stuffed animal so donating one to a lucky child would be amazingly special as well!! Even a toy is always nice!

9) Cooking/Baking: I love cooking and baking. Any cookbooks, from any food genre, supplies, mixes, recipes, anything vintage related to cooking! I'm hoping to get an easy bake oven! anything related to that!!!

10)Gift Cards for anywhere: As a struggling student a gift card for anywhere is ALWAYS appreciated! Saving any sort of money is amazing and I do try and pass those savings along to other, through my donations or gifts or just buying someone else a coffee when they are broke at the student center!

This is my first year doing this and after looking at all your wishes I hope I'm able to grant a lot of them! To the mods thanks so much for putting this community together!!!

Happy Holidays to everyone and I hope your wishes come true.

4:51PM

Hi everybody! I came across this community last week and i've already bookmarked a lot of wishlists to send things to people- I think it's such a novel idea. My name is Becca and I am a fashion design student from Michigan. Anyways, here is my wishlist. I know times are tough for a lot of people so if you want to send something second hand, used, whatever i'm all for it! If you need my address, please email me with a subject something like "holiday wishes" at beccasee@live.com

1. christmas cards
I'm one of those people that loves mail, and I don't ever get any, which is another reason I love the holidays- holiday cards!

2. Sewing Supplies
Fabric scraps, trims, zippers, notions- anything! I'm sewing on a daily basis and I know how you buy a pack of 10 of something when you only needed 7 and you end up with little things you save and save and have no use for- you could send them to me! I love these kinds of things.

3. Anything Pug/Beagle related
Both dog breeds I have. I'm obsessed with my dogs, so if it is a toy for them, or something pug/beagle related for humans, it will be much appreciated!

4. Anything handmade

I'm always making stuff, if not for other people then just for the sake of enjoying art and crafting, and I always love seeing what other people do. Anything at all- whatever your knitch is I will enjoy it.

5. Food from other countries

especially candy! Doesn't eveyone love to see what is not available to them? Of course, this is how I fall in love with things I can't have year-round but that's another reason why it can be such a special gift!

6. Dr. Seuss related things

I've been obsessed with the whole Dr. Seuss style since I was young, and a lot of my christmas decor is inspired by How the Grinch Stole Christmas but I seriously like anything to do with it.

7. Writing tools
Pens, paper, notebooks, journals, etc. I journal everyday so I can never have enough of this stuff.

8. Do something for animals in need

If you can afford to make a money donation to an animal foundation, they really need it. If you can't, many shelters and rescue centers have wishlists of things they need like warm blankets, food, paper towel, etc. I volunteer at a shelter regularly and it's especially difficult during the winter season. Anything to help out the animals, I along with so many other people would be SO SO SO appreciative.

9. Craft Supplies
As i've previously mentioned, I like making things so I can find a use for any craft supplies, really. Feathers, string, you name it- i'll use it.

10. Random acts of kindness
hold the door for somebody, smile at a stranger, be nice to the cashier- tis' the season! So many people get uptight during the holiday season from the stress of gifting, or dealing with customers...small acts of kindness can weigh heavy to somebody.

1:13PM

Hi everyone, I'm Gracie, I've done this the last two years, last year I sent out a lot of stuff, but lost my job around spring of this year, so I couldn't get the rest of the presents out. Anyway I'm 25, a student and live in San Francisco, California.

1. The Girls Next Door Seasons 3, 4 or 5- I love this show, well the old show with Kendra, Holly and Bridget and I'm trying to collect all the original girls next door on dvd, since I adore the commentary and deleted scenes. I already have Seasons 1 and 2, I don't mind if they are used, as long as they are watchable.

2. Anything from Wilmington, North Carolina- I've never visited there, but it's always been a dream of mine to go, just because it looks like such a beautiful place to visit, and I adore the films/tv shows filmed there (Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, etc..), anyway anything can be post cards, magnets, local treats, etc..

3. Gift cards for Starbucks, Itunes or Amazon- those are the three places I go the most, well not Starbucks much anymore since I can't afford it, but I love itunes and amazon, I just use giftcards if I need anything

4. Anything from my Amazon Wishlist - it's divided into catergories to make it easier, the kids stuff are for my nieces and nephews, for books- used is perfectly fine as long as they are readable and for dvds- used or burned is fine

5. Anything Twilight related- I love this series so much and can't wait for New Moon, but I seriously would adore anything Twilight related- I have the Twilight dvd already and I had all four books until my friend borrowed them and I never got them back, oh I have the audiobooks and ebooks too, but anything else would be awesome

6. Treats or snacks from other countries or even from places other than San Francisco (in the US)- I saw this on someone's wishlist last year and I'm always open to new things, I love white rabbit candy and those lucky candies that you get in red envelopes- I haven't had those since I was a child and I would love to try them again, those were my favorites as a kid- but basically any treats or snacks from other countries I'm fine with, I have no allergies

7. Teas, Hot Chocolate/Cocoa or Coffee- These made my day last year, since it gets really cold during winter time and I love having something hot to drink when I get home from school

8. Homemade items- I love etsy, but necklaces, bracelets, cookies, soaps, perfumes, origami, etc..- as long as it's homemade I would love it

9. Anything Wicked related- this is one of my favorite broadway musicals, I love it so much, I already have the books, so anything related to the musical would be awesome

10. Stuff for my cat, Bella or my dog, Tristan- Tristan loves treats, toys, he's only a year old- he doesn't have anything particular he likes to play with or treats, he likes anything, Bella is 6- she's still very kitten like even if she is 6, for toys- she loves laser toys and catnip toys and for treats- she's like a treat freak, she'll eat anything

If you need my address, my e-mail is glee2142@gmail.com, please put holiday wishes in the subject or leave a comment and I'll message you back.

2:03PM - Bring on the Snow

Hello Holiday Wishers,

My name is Heather, and here is my list.

1. Christmas cards. The thing that saddens me the most is when I spend a ton of time sending cards to friends and family and then get none. I guess its payment for all those years I didn't send cards out. Anyway, I'd like to make a greeting card tree thing to put awesome cards on next year, so your cards will be great for two years in a row really.

2. Fabric scraps. Oh my. I am really getting into crafting this year (I started ahead for Christmas on time this year!) yet I've yet to be confident enough to buy fabric. So much choice, and so expensive! If you have fabric you don't want, I would be tickled to have it. I've got a lot of saved ideas, but need to be confident in using it before I jump in and buy some myself, I think.

3. Craft Glitter - Yea, glitter is boss.

4. Pom Poms - Pom Pom are fun for hanging from a string from the ceiling, yo.

5. Embroidery Floss - Yea, love is floss. I would love to have some with glitter or sparkle in it, since I think that would be the only kind I don't have at this point. Like gold shimmer, silver shimmer.

6. Gocco Machine - Won't happen, but it would be super neato! I dunno, maybe you don't want yours anymore. ;)

7. The Weight Watchers Hungry Monster - He's so cute, but I don't have a WW around here to buy him. He's orange and stuff.

8. A personal wish that you remember Christmas is about Christ and not about perfect gifts or Santa Claus.

9. Ribbon - I've yet to use ribbon in my crafting, but its so great, I'd love to have some to experiment with! Think the cute ribbon with cute characters on it.

10. Kids Books - My 3 yr old son is a bookworm and we love books a lot here.

It would be nice to have a point to checking the mail in December. Hubby is having leg surgery, so I'll be the one waddling (currently 7 months pregnant) to the post office. It will make shoveling the yard during winter, being pregnant, less foul to get some mail. Thanks all!

3:54PM - I cut it all off... again.

I've posted a few times in this comm, so I thought I'd share my new haircut. I'm also bored so I'm gonna give you guys a bit of a time line :)

9:16AM - Hau’oli Lanui (Happy Holidays)

Aloha,

Greetings to you all. I love this community. This will be my fourth year doing this. I love being able to give and I hope by some miracle some of you can some of mine.

Used is love, second hand or handmade is more than fine with me.

1. Ornaments:

I am getting my own tree for my room this year. So anything you have to give would be fine with me.

I love ornaments. Doesn't matter what it is funny, novelty and fandom related ornaments would be cool. Hallmark ornaments is love. (Past Harry Potter and Christmas story ones would rock.)

2. Anything Wiccan/Pagan related:

Please don't let the fact I am Wiccan scare you :P

I am hoping anyone can help me out with this wish. Books related to Paganism or Wicca, altar items anything you think is Wiccan or pagan related would be wonderful.

3. Movies: (used is love)

I am getting a Blu ray player for Yule and I would love any Blu ray movies you don't want anymore. It doesn't have to be Blu ray DVDS are more than fine. I would love anything you want to give. My Mom's main escape since the passing of my father these days is Movies and TV on DVD. She is also addicted to Korean-dramas.

Anything you want to give is more than fine.

4. Shot glasses:

I collect these little beauties. It does not matter what the subject is...fandom, novelty, state, world themes it does not matter. I love it all. But I'd love you forever if it is fandom related.

5. Magnets:

I love magnets does not matter the theme is. Fandom related would be awesome. This year I am trying to collect magnets from every state and country.

6. Anything and everything Harry Potter:

I am a Harry Potter fanatic and anything Harry Potter would make my year.

7. Anything and everything Jossverse (Jossverse is Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dr. Horrible, Dollhouse):

Before Harry Potter there was Jossverse for me. This my first true fandom love. Joss Whedon is a genius and anything and everything related to his shows would be cool. I mean it anything. Here in Hawaii there isn't a whole lot of places that sells Buffy items so I have only a few things.

8. Action figures :

I love action figures. Maybe it's because I never got them as a child. My favorites are Buffy, Harry Potter, Twilight or Horror action figures would be awesome.

9. Baby Taylor Guitar:

I know this is impossible but the guitar my mother gave me is too big and I really want to learn to play the guitar. The color doesn't matter.

10. Anything from my Amazon List:

Used/Beat up/ is more than fine. If you have any of these laying around in your home and you don't want it anymore. Send it my way :)

10:49AM - Hi guys! Happy holidays 2009! Four years and going strong!

About Me
Greetings! I'm Miss M., I'm 32 and I live in Florida with my guy and two kitties. I battle through chronic pain and illness and because of this, am unable to hold a "normal" full-time job. As of August 2008 though, I've gotten a part-time job so I'm celebrating over a year back at work. I'm really proud of myself for the accomplishment. I run a small site called PhoenixFire Designs where I make custom jewelry and other items as a means of supplemental income.

I've been a very active member of the community and this is my fourth year participating. I will be heading through the community and trying to fulfill as many wishes as I can again this year. I truly love the holiday season and enjoy spreading a little cheer. It's amazing how the little things can warm our day. The last years have been AMAZING in this community and I'm looking forward to more joy both giving and receiving again in 2009.

Wishlist!
1. To have a good season on PhoenixFire Designs. (And/or my etsy storefront) I make custom jewelry, dollhouse miniatures and other items. I don't want hand-outs, I want to sell my work so I've earned it and someone has gotten something else in return. I make lovely items and I'm happy to work with anyone on customizing pieces either for themselves or for gifts. Even posting a banner or spreading my link is appreciated. You can post it in your journal, your facebook, twitter - anything! Just get the link out if you can't buy anything personally. I'd just like to earn a little money for the holidays.

2. Anything from my amazon wishlist. I don't mind gently used items. I'm a big believer that many things in life can be enjoyed by more then one person and shared. (And if you already own something on the list and want to recycle it, that's awesome too!)

3. Handknit socks. I LOVE handknit socks and I can't knit to save my life. I wear a size US 6.5 shoe and have little feet. My feet are perpetually cold and I'd love you forever if you made me some socks. There is no such thing as too many pairs of awesome socks.

4. Anything handmade. Being crafty myself, I love handmade items. Knitted, sewn, glasswork, ceramics, woodworking, art - all awesome. I truly love things people made with their hands and skill. I have a wist full of handmade goodies I covet that might serve as inspiration! :)

5. Craft supplies, most notably anything I can use for beading. Swarovski crystal, glass beads, gemstone beads, gemstone chips, spacers, metallic beads, memory wire, jewelry wire, stringing material - you name it, I love it. You can never have enough. New bead supplies are always a giddy moment. (And I'd love you if you got me 24 gauge Artistic Brand Wire. I use it for my Tree of Life pendants and it's my favorite wire but I can't find it locally anywhere!) Beyond beading, I'm also crafty (paper crafts, stamps, decoupage, polymer clay and tools, miniatures, etc.) so I'd love just about anything I can create with!

6. Anything Disney. I'm a big fan. I collect Disney trading pins, I have a bunch of Disney dvd's, I enjoy Walt Disney World, and generally just love being a kid and having a total escape from the mundane that it offers. (This includes Pixar as well!) I live a little over an hour away from Walt Disney World. I just love all things Disney!

7. Gift certificates. For just about anywhere. I would really love one for a clothes/shoes store, a national bookstore chain, or someplace for beauty items like Sephora/Ulta. (Places I never tend to spend money on myself in the name of "being responsible" at but would love to.) I don't mind if you've used part of it and have $7.52 left on it. I know sometimes people give you ones for places you might not like or need or use and they sit and collect dust in your wallet.

8. Entertainment goodies. I read a ton of fantasy fiction, vamp fic, etc. (Get an idea of my tastes on my goodreads list) and can always use more books! (Used is fine!) Craft or sewing books would rock as well. Or any movies/dvds/tv shows that are awesome that you don't want anymore or think more people should see that I can watch. Or maybe you have old PS2 games, or Gameboy Advance or Nintendo DS cartridges you don't play any longer. (Yeah, I'm out of date on my video game systems!) Stuff to entertain and have fun with.

9. My pipe dream wish: A digital countertop kiln. Yes I know it's unrealistic. But sometimes you have to just put your intentions and dreams out there to the universe to make them happen. I dream of making fused glass pendants, working with PMC and getting into new aspects of my jewelry. So on the list it goes!

And last but certainly not least... 10. Holiday cards! Bonus if they have penguins on them, or owls, or winter scenes and extra bonus if they are Yule/Solstice themed. But honestly, any and all cards are SO welcome! I absolutely love mail. I check my mailbox every day because I just love getting mail. It's like a present.
